National Wool Museum
Located at Dre-fach Felindre near Llandysul, the National Wool Museum tells the story of the Welsh woollen industry in the very community where it once thrived. Admission is free and it makes a particularly good option for a cooler or rainy day.
Cenarth Falls
One of the best-known natural attractions in the Teifi Valley. Wander beside the River Teifi, see the waterfalls and pools and explore the pretty village of Cenarth, with the National Coracle Centre also nearby.
Newcastle Emlyn
A welcoming historic market town in the Teifi Valley with independent shops, cafés, pubs and riverside scenery. It is an easy place to combine shopping, lunch and a gentle wander.
Cardigan & Cardigan Castle
Explore Cardigan's independent shops and riverside before visiting Cardigan Castle, a historic site closely associated with the origins of the Welsh Eisteddfod.
Llangrannog
One of Ceredigion's best-loved seaside villages, with a sandy beach beneath dramatic cliffs, cafés and pubs close to the shore and superb stretches of the Wales Coast Path nearby.
Tresaith
A picturesque sandy bay with rock pools and the unusual sight of a waterfall dropping directly onto the beach. It is a lovely location for a coastal walk or relaxed afternoon by Cardigan Bay.
Poppit Sands
A broad sandy beach backed by dunes at the mouth of the Teifi Estuary. Poppit is ideal for long beach walks and also marks one end of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path near St Dogmaels.
Llanerchaeron
This National Trust estate near Aberaeron combines a Georgian villa, traditional farmyard, walled garden, lake and woodland. Seasonal events make it worth checking what's on before you go.
Dinefwr & Llandeilo
Make a day of historic Dinefwr, Newton House, the parkland and castle before exploring colourful Llandeilo with its cafés, shops and galleries.
National Botanic Garden of Wales
One of Carmarthenshire's major attractions, with more than 500 acres to explore, the spectacular Great Glasshouse, parkland, nature reserve, trails and family-friendly activities.
Penbryn Beach
A quieter rural beach surrounded by wooded slopes. At low tide there is a long stretch of sand, rock pools and a smugglers' cave, with the Wales Coast Path passing above the bay.
Aberporth
A pretty coastal village with two sandy beaches, rock pools and clifftop walks overlooking Cardigan Bay. Keep an eye on the water too — this coastline is well known for marine wildlife.
